A new paper for two LIF students

LIF students Francis Guérin and Oussama Beroual have just learned that their research paper, titled “Searching for Behavioural Bugs with Stateful Test Oracles in Web Crawlers”, has been accepted at the 10th International Workshop on Search-Based Software Testing (SBST 2017). The workshop will be hosted as part of the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, next May.

Their paper, co-authored with professor Sylvain Hallé, shows how the testing of a web application can be simplified by combining toghether two types of software systems: a web crawler that automatically explores the application, and a test oracle that checks complex conditions on the pages visited by the crawler. Their project makes use of Cornipickle, an award-winning web testing tool that is developed at LIF.

Congratulations to Francis and Oussama!
